Engage!

This is exactly what I just did. I asked you a question.

Ask your audience questions.

Use simple questions, like: “What’s the best book you read?”, “What’s your favourite action movie?”, “Are you a tea or coffee drinker?” and so on.

Make them feel connected with you and your brand.

It’s a great way to get to know your audience so that eventually you can determine what kind of content they would be more likely to engage with.

Entertain!

This is where you and your audience can have some fun together. Entertain your audience. Post fun content, give them something to laugh or smile about.

Posting funny memes, jokes or quotes is a great way to keep your audience entertained.

Post something that would make them feel an emotion and that they can resonate with. They will be more likely to engage.

For example: “What did you have for breakfast? Comment with a GIF!”

That is a fun post that would make the readers feel an emotion. They will remember how much fun they had on holiday and would probably engage with the post. Who doesn’t like a funny GIF?

People are more likely to engage with a post when it makes them feel an emotion. Anything from happiness to sadness, nostalgia, anger and so on.

Educate!

Show your expertise to your audience. You can make a post or Facebook live or share a short video or blog post about your services or product.

Share tips and advice and provide value to your target market. They will love you for it.

Remember, social media is not about sales. It’s about creating connections and trust.

Keep in mind the 3-2-1 rule:

3 posts that provide value
2 personal posts
1 sale post

If you post always about selling your products, you will drive your possible audience away.
