Are you finding it challenging to reach your audience on social media?
Before you read on, I put together an interesting and free case study of the best performing posts on my own personal blog Facebook page. You might find it useful.
If you were having a sick day and had time to watch 3 movies, which would you choose?
I would pick The Holiday, Limitless and Pulp Fiction.
Now, your turn!
You might be thinking: “What does this have to do with social media?” The answer is, it does have a lot to do with it.
Did I engage you with my question? Did you actually stop and think about the answer?
Most likely, you did. And I hope that if this was a post on my social media profile, you would actually write your answer in the comment.
Right! Engagement is actually one of the key elements to increase organic reach on your social media.
Let’s look at the 3 key actions more in details.
This is exactly what I just did. I asked you a question.
Ask your audience questions.
Use simple questions, like: “What’s the best book you read?”, “What’s your favourite action movie?”, “Are you a tea or coffee drinker?” and so on.
Make them feel connected with you and your brand.
It’s a great way to get to know your audience so that eventually you can determine what kind of content they would be more likely to engage with.
This is where you and your audience can have some fun together. Entertain your audience. Post fun content, give them something to laugh or smile about.
Posting funny memes, jokes or quotes is a great way to keep your audience entertained.
Post something that would make them feel an emotion and that they can resonate with. They will be more likely to engage.
For example: “What did you have for breakfast? Comment with a GIF!”
That is a fun post that would make the readers feel an emotion. They will remember how much fun they had on holiday and would probably engage with the post. Who doesn’t like a funny GIF?
People are more likely to engage with a post when it makes them feel an emotion. Anything from happiness to sadness, nostalgia, anger and so on.
Show your expertise to your audience. You can make a post or Facebook live or share a short video or blog post about your services or product.
Share tips and advice and provide value to your target market. They will love you for it.
Remember, social media is not about sales. It’s about creating connections and trust.
Keep in mind the 3-2-1 rule:
3 posts that provide value
2 personal posts
1 sale post
If you post always about selling your products, you will drive your possible audience away.
Are you ready to increase your organic reach? With these 3 key actions (3E’s) for creating amazing content, you are good to go!
I don’t promise you overnight success. Social media is a long-term strategy that requires time and commitment. It might take some time before you start seeing the results you are aiming for.
